Learn the fundamentals of throwing on the pottery wheel in this 8 week beginner friendly class. Practice the essential techniques to make your first pot on the wheel. This class will cover centering clay, throwing essential forms, and glazing.
For the intermediate student, this class will hone in the basic fundamentals to develop more intricate forms. Students will begin to develop practical knowledge of proportions, balance, and understanding of functional vessels and decorative techniques. This is an 8 week course. Recommended skills before taking this class are comfortably centering and throwing a balanced cylinder over three inches tall.
For the maker looking to further develop personal style and advanced forming techniques. In this class students will begin to learn skills including advanced lid systems, throwing larger, and pouring forms. Students will begin to explore the art in craft. This is an 8 week course. Recommended skills include consistency in throwing and exploring alternative forms, and the ability to throw a cylinder over 4 inches tall.
